Edit material

The Edit material command allows you to create or modify a material definition in the materials database.

 

Access

• Click Edit material in the Materials tab.
• Type Edit material in the Quick Search field and select Edit material from the result list.

This opens the Edit material - Options tab. (See Options tab.)

Procedure

1. Select the material to edit, or <Create new material> if you wish to create a new material 

Edit material - Options

The following options are available in the Edit material command:

Material	Select the material to edit, or <Create new material> if you wish to add a new material to the database
Name	The display name of the material, which must be unique; when creating materials the name cannot be already in use
Type	The general type of the material – this is used for some fundamental physical properties
Ultimate tensile strength	The ultimate tensile strength of the material
Modulus of elasticity	The modulus of elasticity of the material
Strain hardening coefficient	The strain hardening coefficient of the material
